The process has started to build a new aviation park at the Chattanooga Airport.

The BlueCross Healthy Place Park at Chattanooga Airport will be located at the airport’s highest elevation level, where families will be able to watch planes come and go in the distance.

Airport officials say the idea was proposed decades ago and now, thanks to a $1.2 million grant and the project's approval, that dream will finally become a reality.

It's unclear when the park will be finished.
