PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The world's heaviest green squash was grown this year in the smallest state.

Scituate farmer Joe Jutras brought his record-breaking gourd to the Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Growers weigh off at Frerichs Farm last weekend. The green squash is a whopping 2,200 pounds.

Every year, Jutras partners with Roger Williams Park Zoo to display massive pumpkins and squashes in the zoo's Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. This year, the event features his record-breaking green squash.

The zoo noted that Jutras holds numerous records for his Atlantic Giant pumpkins and squashes.
