KINGSTON, N.Y. — A $50,000 state grant has been awarded to the Regional Food Bank, Hudson Valley, a discount food distributor that serves some pantries in Ulster County, to expand “food storage and distribution capacity,” according to Assemblyman Brian Maher.

Maher, R-Walden, who represents the 101st Assembly District, said Wednesday that funding comes from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York and will enable the Montgomery-based food bank to install a new freezer at its “Shop the Dock” facility, allowing for the distribution of more proteins, meats, and perishable goods to families across the region, Maher’s office said in a news release.
