BOUNDARY COUNTY, Idaho – A hunter near the junction of Highway 95 and Highway 1 had a run-in with a grizzly bear, according to the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office.
Idaho Fish and Game is investigating the reported interaction.
There may be law enforcement and wildlife officials in the area while they investigate and look for the bear, wrote the sheriff’s office in its announcement about the incident.
The sheriff’s office asked people to be aware of their surroundings while in the area.
Grizzly bears tend to be found in the most northern part of Idaho and in eastern Idaho near Yellowstone National Park, according to the Idaho Fish and Game website .
“Stay safe and enjoy Idaho’s outdoors responsibly,” wrote the office.
