JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A 27-year-old man charged in a deadly Highway 93 crash that killed a mother and her infant daughter appeared in court Tuesday for his arraignment hearing.
Jonathan Villagomez remained silent as Judge Rosemary Emory entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. Villagomez is charged in the deaths of 41-year-old Jessica Inga and her 6-month-old daughter, Yamilet.
According to Idaho State Police, the crash occurred July 3 on Highway 93 when Villagomez’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck an SUV driven by a 20-year-old woman. The 20-year-old driver survived the crash, but Inga died at the scene. Her daughter died later at the hospital.
