BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Denham Springs man was arrested after allegedly driving under the influence, causing a crash.

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the scene of a crash at the intersection of O'Neal Lane and Riverdale Avenue on Oct. 10. Deputies learned that Allan Funez, 40, was driving north on O'Neal Lane before he crossed the center line, crashing head-on with a vehicle in the turning lane. The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment.

When in contact with Funez, deputies reported he smelled like alcohol, his speech was slurred, his eyes were bloodshot, and he was unable to walk unassisted. Inside the car, deputies found an open 12 oz. bottle of Corona.
