A woman has been treated for smoke inhalation following a fire and shooting in Sydney’s west in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Emergency services attended a home on Wendy Close in Cabramatta about 12.45am after reports of a fire.

The house and a white Toyota SUV were both alight when local officers arrived at the scene.

“Fire and Rescue NSW officers were able to extinguish the blaze, however both the house and car sustained significant damage,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

A number of gun shots were heard and bullet casings were found scattered on the ground, police were informed.

The fire caused a 57-year-old woman to suffer smoke inhalation, requiring treatment by paramedics at the scene.

Meanwhile, three other people inside the home at the time of the fire were unharmed,
