More than 170,000 Nissan and Chevrolet vehicles are being over a potential fuel pump issue that could cause engines to stall while driving, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report said.
The recall, posted earlier this month, includes certain models of the Chevrolet City Express and Nissan’s NV200 van lineup, including the standard and taxi versions. Impacted vehicles may experience a blown fuel pump fuse, which can cause the engine to shut off and increase the risk of a crash.
Nissan suspects the issue stems from the Fuel Tank Temperature (FTT) sensor harness being incorrectly routed, damaging wires and leading to a short circuit.
