SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On this quiet acreage, with farmers harvesting their crops in the distance, Katie Zuraff’s dream has come alive.
“Twenty-plus years in the making. I grew up in a special family. I had a sister who was autistic and cognitively impaired. And I saw what my family went through. And I knew I had a passion for people with special needs,” said Katie.
“So, the farm has been Katie’s dream since before I knew her. And as we were dating and talking about getting married, it was pretty clear to me that this dream of hers needed to happen, and I was gonna have to be a part of it,” said her husband, Chris.
So Katie and Chris started The Specialty Crop Collaborative. Where they live and raise their family. This group from Hope Haven in northwest Iowa came down to
