SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A couple of downtown Sioux Falls restaurants are reaching out a hand for help.
Roots of Brasil opened just over three years ago, but its owners have already started to worry about the pace of business, especially as the slow season for the food industry approaches.
“Once your honeymoon period is over or you’re kind of brand new, it does start to wear off when the next place is open. Just naturally, people kind of shift their focus in pretty great numbers,” Roots of Brasil Co-Owner Mark Gillespie says.
From the effects of tariffs to the emergence of a series of new restaurants around the city, and the end of a honeymoon phase, making ends meet for this mom-and-pop restaurant has been a challenge.
