RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has ordered flags in the state of Nevada to half-staff over the death of U.S. District Court Judge Jim C Shirley.
“Judge Shirley was a deeply respected judge and community leader, and Donna and I send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know and work alongside him,”said Governor Lombardo . “Judge Shirley was a tremendous Nevadan, and in honor of his life and legacy, all flags in Nevada will be lowered to half-staff tomorrow from sunrise to sunset.”
Shirley was elected to serve in the Sixth Judicial District Court in 2014, which, at that time, encompassed, Humbolt, Lander, and Pershing counties and had two judges.
