A former technician at the FBI’s Los Angeles bureau pleaded guilty Wednesday to manipulating the outcome of bidding for contracts at the office, allowing his sister’s electronic companies to win at least $350,000 in equipment agreements.

Jeffrey Spencer, 51, of Canyon Country, and his sister, Christy Evereklian, 43, of Temecula, were both charged in Los Angeles federal court with conspiracy to defraud the United States.

A sentencing date of April 10 was set for Spencer.

Evereklian is expected to plead guilty on Oct. 31 in downtown Los Angeles, court papers show.

According to their plea agreements, from August 2015 through August 2020, the siblings conspired to defraud the U.S. by preventing the solicitation of competitive bids for electronics.
