At least two Kentucky airports, including one in Louisville, declined to play a video that blames Democratic lawmakers for how the ongoing U.S. government shutdown has impacted air travel.
In the video intended to play at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints, U.S Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem criticized congressional Democrats for contributing to the federal government shutdown that has resulted in flight delays and staffing issues , as TSA agents and Federal Aviation Administration air traffic controllers are considered federal employees.
"Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government," Noem said in the video. "Because of this, many of our operations are impacted and most of our TSA employees are working without pay."
