PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- I met Pietro Belluschi in 1992. He was the last of a great generation of architects and European immigrants who had a major impact on American architecture.

Belluschi "is definitely an American architect," said the internationally renowned architect I.M. Pei. "He's not Italian, even though he came from there. He's an American architect with a very strong tradition exemplified by Frank Lloyd Wright."
