SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane City Council and city employees are hosting a community food drive to ensure local families have food on the table this fall.

From October 15 through December 15, the community food drive will collect items to support two local programs: Zilch and Bite2Go.

Zilch is a program that collects food items for immediate distribution to communities through small food pantries.

provides nutritious weekend food supplies to Spokane Public School students in grades K-12.

According to Bite2Go, one in five children in the Inland Northwest face daily hunger.
