WILLISTON — Despite a prediction that fire services in the city would take a hit, the Williston City Commission turned down a $2.9 million grant from FEMA which would have helped fund 15 positions with the Williston Fire Department over a three-year period.

During the city commission meeting on Tuesday evening (Oct. 14), Fire chief Matt Clark addressed a misconception that the department is at capacity "and we have more than we need." kAmxE :D 24EF2==J 72C 7C@> E92E]k^Am kAmQ(6 ECF=J 92G6 ?6G6C >6E @FC >:?:>F>D[Q 96 D2:5] Q(6 92G6 ?6G6C >6E @FC >:?:>F>D DE277:?8 24C@DD E96 3@2C5] (6 ?6G6C >6E H92E E96 ?2E:@?2= C64@>>6?565 D276EJ AC642FE:@?D H6C6 7@C A6CD@??6=[ EH@ :? 2?5 EH@ @FE]Q k^Am kAm(:E9 7:C6 2AA2C2EFD6D DE27765 H:E9 @?=J EH@[ C2E96C E92?
