The Charleroi community is bracing for change amid a large employer shutting down and Temporary Protected Status set to expire for many immigrant residents in early 2026.

Temporary Protected Status for Haitian immigrants, many of whom work at Fourth Street Foods, according to Charleroi Borough Manager Joe Manning, is set to expire in February.
“It's just another gut punch to the community here, that this was a thriving business in this community and employed a lot of people, and to have it be in this type of situation is not good. And we hope that there's some type of resolution to it,” Manning
