SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Kansas City’s Fountain City Comedy Festival will honor tickets purchased for Springfield’s Blue Room Comedy Club after comedians blacklisted the venue over unpaid wages.

Comedians announced on social media that they would boycott the Blue Room, citing the club’s failure to pay performers. The boycott has left customers who purchased tickets without shows to attend.

Heather Shaw, one of the comedians involved in the boycott, was scheduled to perform in Springfield next weekend. Shaw will instead appear at the Fountain City Comedy Festival in Kansas City next Thursday.

Festival organizers decided to honor Springfield tickets for free admission to Shaw’s Kansas City performance.
