EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - UW-Eau Claire will be closing the Center for Restorative Practices at the end of October as part of a restructuring of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) programs.
Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Dean of Students Gregg Heinselman confirmed the closure of the CRP and the elimination of the position of the center's director held by Catherine Emmanuelle. He says that is the only staff position effected by the move.
Instead, staff in human resources, the Dean of Students office, and Multicultural Student Services will be trained in implementing restorative practices.
"It's an opportunity to re-envision and try a different model," Heinselman said.
