MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - During the fall season, Wisconsin Department of Health Services officials are encouraging Wisconsinites to get vaccinated against respiratory illnesses.
DHS said updated flu and COVID-19 vaccines are widely available across the state. Officials added the RSV vaccine is available for eligible people, including older adults and pregnant people.
RSV antibodies are also available to ensure young kids are protected from severe illness.
“Vaccination levels are probably behind what we have seen in previous years,” said Dr. Stephanie Schauer, the Wisconsin Immunization Program manager. “But we know that there’s been a lot of interest and hope that it will continue to gain momentum.”
