NEW ORLEANS — In two months, Mayor-elect Helena Moreno will officially take office at City Hall. Still, even before then, she’s getting to work assembling a team to guide her administration through the transition.

On Wednesday, Moreno introduced the group that will help her prepare to lead.

“I won’t be wasting a day,” Moreno said. “We’re getting everything together.”

The transition team includes some familiar names, including former campaign director Renée Lapeyrolerie and former White House advisor and Louisiana congressman Cedric Richmond.

“I’m ecstatic that I get to help shape this next mayoral administration,” Lapeyrolerie said. “One that’s looking to do it with inclusivity — one that’s looking to lift up every neighborhood.”
