CORVALLIS, Ore.- In a season already filled with frustration, Oregon State football now faces a new test, navigating a coaching change midyear. However, inside the locker room, the Beavers insist their focus remains on competing and finishing the season strong.

“We’re trying to win,” co-defensive coordinator Ilaisa Tuiaki said Wednesday. “Coach Akey wants to be able to take over. And we all know how this thing is. There’s already a search firm rolling right now. So, it’s like, if we can get on a roll, does he have a legitimate chance to get it? As a d-line coach does it give me a chance to keep my job?”
