LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Matt Rhule’s first game at Nebraska was a road contest at Minnesota in 2023. The Huskers lost, 13-10, and afterwards the then-new head coach shouldered the blame. Rhule said he didn’t have his team appropriately prepared for the road atmosphere at Huntington Bank Stadium.

Rhule won’t let the mistake happen twice. The Huskers are practicing with crowd noise turned up this week in preparation for Friday’s environment in Minneapolis.

“We’re counting on Husker Nation to show up and even out the volume to a degree,” Rhule said.

In preparation for the atmosphere, quarterbacks have worked out operating the offense with a silent cadence.

Nebraska is seeking its first win over the Golden Gophers since 2018. The Huskers have lost six straight games in the series.
