A 20-year-old man was shot and killed outside a hotel Wednesday afternoon in Northgate, according to Seattle police.

Officers located the man shot in the chest around 4:52 p.m. in a parking lot near Hotel Nexus Seattle, at 2140 N. Northgate Way, Detective Brian Pritchard said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the shooting happened outside the hotel.

The shooter fled, and police had released no information on the suspect as of late Wednesday, Pritchard said.

Wednesday’s homicide followed several violent crimes over the past week. Seattle police reported two shootings, a stabbing and a machete attack on Sunday and Monday.

However, as of now, Pritchard said the department is not seeing homicides trending in the wrong direction.
