ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Both Albemarle County Fire Rescue and the Albemarle County Police Department went before the Board of Supervisors with a detailed look at their operations — highlighting what they need most: stronger communication, more training capacity, and above all, consistent staffing.

“We’re making some tough choices in terms of where we have to downsize certain stations because of staffing troubles. At the same time, we have our volunteer partners out there doing a really good job, but they feel strained too. I think it’s good to talk about those things and determine what strategy we can use to provide some relief," said ACFR Chief Dan Eggleston.
