Gun violence prevention is the topic of discussion.

“And they’re like your friend, tell them don’t bring a gun to school, they can get in big trouble,” said one student.

A group of D.C. students are a part of a national effort putting pen to paper, signing a pledge, committing to a life free of firearms in order to solve problems.

“Pledge to never use a gun for anything and to get your friends and people that you know to also do the same,” said seventh grader Erin McNely.

Erin signed the pledge, and for the last couple of weeks,he’s been getting more of his peers to join in. He's also learned some important lessons
