NIWOT — A year after clinching the Class 4A state championship, Niwot gymnastics appears to be back to its top form.

On Wednesday night in their home gym, the Cougars won a meet with the Poudre School District and Fort Morgan with a score of 183.150, led by junior Evie Saunders, who shined with a 37.300 and the victory in the all-around.

That should give the Cougars the top 4A team score of the season as well as their new school record.

A week earlier, the Cougars posted what is now the third-best score in the entire classification at 181.750. Roosevelt, on the same day in a different gym, beat them out with a 182.250. The Cougars have seen an 11-point jump since their first meet of the season.
