ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Early voting for the upcoming Nov. 4 elections began on Tuesday, Oct. 14 and is off to a very sluggish start. As of Wednesday, Oct.. 15, only 86 voters had cast ballots in the City of Conyers races for a new mayor and four City Council seats. Early voting ends Oct. 31. Conyers voters will elect a new mayor to succeed Mayor Vince Evans, who is not running for re-election. Voters also will choose from three candidates to fill the City CouncilDistrict 2, Post 2 seat to fill the unexpired term of Connie Alsobrook, who is running for mayor. Incumbent Charlie Bryant is running for City Council District 2, Post 1 unopposed, and newcomer Anthony Garcia Pacheco is running unopposed for the CityCouncil District 1 seat.
