Isaw Hadestown for the first time- at a Wednesday matinee- on March 11th, 2020. Less than 24 hours after experiencing it, the show shut down. That was over five years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday.

COVID-19 SHUTS DOWN BROADWAY

On Thursday, March 12th, 2020, all 41 Broadway theatres closed their shows and locked their doors. The COVID-19 pandemic was sweeping through New York City. I flew into town on Tuesday, the 10th. I spent that evening watching Jagged Little Pill at the Broadhurst. The next afternoon, I settled into my seat at the Walter Kerr to watch Hadestown .
