The last time Penn State football had a head coach opening under normal circumstances, gas cost $0.32 per gallon. The Sound of Music was in theaters. We hadn’t landed on the moon, and Led Zeppelin wasn’t a band yet.

Thankfully, that last thing happened. But the point is, it’s been a while, 59 years to be exact, since the Nittany Lions have hired a head coach under normal circumstances.
