Thousands of people have joined a legal claim against pharmaceutical company Johnson and Johnson over the cancer risks linked to its baby powder product. The law suit accuses the company of knowingly selling talcum powder contaminated with asbestos- a known cause of cancer- since the 1960s.
KP Law is leading the legal claim which involves 3,000 people, and which is based on internal memos and scientific reports. J&J is accused of failing to label the products with warnings despite knowing the risks of using them, and instead launching aggressive campaigns that marketed the baby powder as pure and safe, reports the BBC.
