U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton’s Democratic Senate campaign is on a shaky foundation – based on nothing more than incumbent 79-year-old Ed Markey’s age and a superficial, opportunistic desire to move up the ladder in Congress.
If Moulton were an employer, he’d be brought up on age discrimination charges based on his video announcement that Markey is too old to be reelected.
The 46-year-old Moulton in fact freely admits he has very few if any policy differences with fellow liberal Democrat Markey, much the same way Josh Kraft tried and failed to articulate any differences with fellow liberal Michelle Wu.
Moulton’s got nothing to run on but an entirely superficial, ageist conclusion that Markey will be 86 at the end of his next term. There is no compelling reason to throw Markey out of the Senate
