A crowd of about 60 gathered at the waterfront in Pembroke on a cool October evening to honour the life of American conservative commentator and activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated last month. The vigil, organized by local resident Candice Lacroix-Johnston, brought together residents for an evening of prayer, gospel music, and reflection.
Kirk, 31, was the founder of the U.S.-based organization Turning Point USA and was a prominent voice in right-leaning political circles. His death, the result of a shooting while attending a public event, has drawn widespread attention and stirred emotions among supporters around the world.
