PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Tonight, the Providence City Council is set to meet for its regularly scheduled meeting.
On tonight’s agenda councilman Pedro Espinal is set to share a recommendation on amending a chapter of the Providence Community Police Relations Act.
That meeting is at 6.
Separately, we’re hearing from a spokesperson for the city saying, once again, that Providence police officers don’t help ICE agents, and won’t ask for someone’s documentation.
That spokesperson went on to say:
The mayor’s priority is the safety and well-being of all residents and ensuring essential city services are accessible to everyone without fear. Providence remains committed to being a welcoming city for all, regardless of immigration status.
