Canadiens defenceman Arber Xhekaj and forward Patrik Laine haven’t been getting much ice time early in the season.
Through the first four games, Xhekaj was averaging a team-low 10:53 of ice time as the sixth blue-liner, while Laine was averaging 12:43 as a fourth-line winger. Meanwhile, rearguard Jayden Struble and forward Joe Veleno had yet to play, watching the first four games from the press box.
