Newly single Keith Urban was forced to cancel his High and Alive World Tour stop in South Carolina after being diagnosed with laryngitis earlier this week.

The country singer was hours away from taking the stage at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville on Wednesday when a venue rep announced that he was advised by laryngologist Dr. Gaelyn Garrett to “cancel his performance.”

“He has been placed on complete vocal rest and Dr. Garrett is optimistic that he will be back onstage for his Nashville show,” the statement read , referring to the hitmaker’s concert at the Bridgestone Arena on Friday night.

Urban, 57, also expressed his disappointment, sharing in the statement, “Hey Greenville, I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show.
