With time running out to move up the state power rankings, the Falmouth High School volleyball team scored consecutive victories for the first time in about three weeks as it overpowered St. John Paul II at home on Wednesday, October 15, by a 3-1 score. The team is now 7-10 overall and entered the week ranked No. 31 in the most recent Division 3 poll. With just the top 32 teams getting into the postseason, the Clippers have left themselves with little room for error, though the victories will certainly help their cause.

The team has three matches remaining. The first will be on Monday, October 20, at Dennis-Yarmouth.

Against the Lions it was senior outside hitter Layla Clunes who led the way. Clunes had a big night, finishing with 22 kills, 12 digs and a pair of aces. Setter Bella Eulo
