NEW YORK (PIX11) – The Food and Drug Administration expanded its recall for cinnamon containing elevated lead levels to New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut on Thursday.
Various cinnamon brands sold across numerous retailers in the tri-state area have been identified, according to the FDA.
“Through product testing by state programs and confirmed by the FDA, the FDA has determined that the ground cinnamon products listed in the table below contain elevated levels of lead, and exposure to these products may be unsafe,” reads the recall page. “The FDA is advising consumers to throw away and not to buy these ground cinnamon products.”
Consumers with the brands listed below are advised to stop using the product immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
