SAN MATEO — Two men were arrested in connection with an alleged carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon in June, authorities said.
The two suspects — one identified as the primary suspect, and the second identified as the driver who brought him to the scene — were each booked into jail on suspicion of carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon, according to a news release from the San Mateo Police Department.
Just before 5 a.m. on June 8, police responded to reports of a stolen vehicle, authorities said. The incident occurred on the 700 block of South Humboldt Street.
The victim told police that he had been walking away from his parked and idling vehicle when he saw another vehicle pull up next to it, authorities said. A person exited the vehicle and entered the victim’s vehicle.
