ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Blue Angels will not perform at this weekend’s Wings Over North Georgia Air Show in Rome because of the federal government shutdown.

“The most recent vote today by the U.S. Senate did not result in an approved budget,” organizers said in a statement Thursday. “Because there isn’t another vote scheduled until Monday, we do not see a reasonable path for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels to perform this weekend at the Wings Over North Georgia Air Show.”

Senate Democrats rejected for the 10th time Thursday a stopgap spending bill that would reopen the government, insisting they won’t back away from demands that Congress take up health care benefits.
