ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Thieves broke into a southwest Atlanta liquor store Friday morning by punching a hole through the building’s cinder block wall, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

The break-in happened at Alex’s Package Liquor on Campbellton Road near Childress Drive around 4:30 a.m. Burglars punched through the wall directly into the store’s stock room.

A store employee said three people broke in and stole a large amount of cash and at least two cases of liquor. Security footage shows the thieves hauling boxes through the hole they created.

The break-in left broken glass bottles scattered throughout the store and crumbled pieces of cinder block wall. A worker showed the security footage but would not give permission for it to be broadcast.
