FORT BENNING, Ga. (WTVM) - Fort Benning’s annual Oktoberfest celebration returns to Uchee Creek Campground & Marina Friday through Sunday, featuring three days of German music, food and family activities.

The festival runs from Friday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 19, with admission and parking free to the public.

Festival kicks off with keg tapping ceremony

The festivities begin with the official keg tapping ceremony Friday at 6 p.m. in the Festzelt. The Maneuver Center of Excellence Band will perform the German and American national anthems as Fort Benning leadership taps the keg.

The Oktoberfest Festzelt will host authentic German bands throughout the weekend. Multiple Biergartens around the tent will serve schnitzel and German brews.
