WEST STEWARTSTOWN, N.H. (WCAX) - A grieving widow is demanding changes to how New Hampshire corrections officials deal with inmates who have substance use disorders following her husband’s detox death.

Amanda Courchesne says it was love at first sight when she met Joey. “We never were apart after that,” she said.

The couple married just six months after meeting. They already had two children, and together they had two more. Courchesne says it was the family Joey always wanted but never thought he’d have. “Any time the kids had a hard time, they ran to him,” she said.
