RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Homeowners in Raleigh's Anderson Forest neighborhood are continuing to speak out against plans to potentially build a new greenway through their backyards.
Once completed, the planned Big Branch Greenway Connector will run from the Crabtree Creek Trail near Six Forks Road to Cedar Hills Park in North Raleigh. But where it'll be located north of Six Forks has been the ongoing source of controversy.
Kim Huband said he taught his grandchildren how to ride bikes in the yard, which could one day be home to a greenway.
"We play horseshoes, kick the soccer ball," Huband said. "This is the only flat area in our yard.
"All we'd see from our dining area, from our deck, is the greenway," he said. "We could see people’s feet walking on the greenway."
