LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- More than 45,000 people have responded to a survey from the Clark County School District on changing school start times, according to the deputy superintendent.
CCSD posted the survey on Sept. 26 to its website, asking parents, students, and staff for their opinion on pushing back start times by 30 minutes.
"Participation has been fantastic, so as of today we've had over 45,000 responses to the survey," CCSD Deputy Superintendent Jesse Welsh said on Thursday.
In arguing for changing school start times, the district referred to research that says children benefit from more sleep. They receive an improvement to their health, attendance, and academic performance.
