Ace Frehley, a founder of ground breaking 70s rock band KISS, has died after an accident at his studio. He was 74.

The talented guitarist suffered a brain bleed after a fall in his studio several weeks ago and had been on a ventilator.

His family made the difficult decision to turn off his life support on Friday.

“We are completely devastated and heartbroken,” his family wrote in a statement to People .

“In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth.

“We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others.
