CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A trial date has been set for Matthew Farwell, a former Massachusetts police officer accused of killing Sandra Birchmore.

Matthew Farwell's jury trial is scheduled for October 5 of next year.

Farwell was arrested last year for allegedly strangling Birchmore and staging her death to look like a suicide. He resigned in 2022 during an internal investigation into the case. Farwell has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
