ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - As balloons filled the sky — heartbreak echoed below. The sound of a mother’s cry carried through the crowd, as friends and family gathered to remember 29-year-old Trinity Staten on Thursday.

Her mother, Dominique Staten, held back tears as she described the daughter she lost early Tuesday morning.

“Life of the party, as you can see, she was loved by plenty. The biggest heart in the world, she would give you the shirt off her back,” Dominique said. “She would take care of anybody. The person that killed her, she took care of him and I still to this day don’t know why he took her life.”
