PONTIAC – Over the years, Detroit Country Day and Macomb Lutheran North have played many epic battles on the soccer pitch.

Wednesday was not one of them.

Detroit Country Day, ranked second in the state in Division 3, advance to the district finals with a 6-0 victory over Lutheran North in a district semifinals match at Pontiac Notre Dame Prep.

Tino Haratsaris scored three goals for the Yellowjackets, who defensively recorded their 10th shutout of the season.

Detroit County Day will face top-ranked and defending state champion Notre Dame Prep in the district finals. The Yellowjackets (14-2-3) now own a 66-19 scoring edge this season.
