Senior Government figures were due to meet today, Friday, October 17, as pressure mounts for a reversal of the Maccabi Tel Aviv Villa Park fan ban.

Culture department minister Ian Murray told Sky News the ban on the Israeli club's supporters attending next month’s match against Aston Villa was the “wrong decision” by Birmingham ’s safety advisory group.

Mr Murray told the broadcaster: “The Prime Minister and the Government have been clear about that. In fact, pretty much every politician has been clear about that.”
